The three big issues that every mailer struggles with are inkjet speed unpredictability, print
dry times, and poor print quality.  Buskro proposes to end all of that with their Aurora Ultra-Violet (UV) Inkjeting System.  Their claims are big, considering the fact that every other manufacturer is working on the same issues.  So we put the new system to the test, and here's what we found:

The new ink needs a UV lamp to dry.  Instead of air drying or running under a heat lamp, 2 UV lamps mount onto the Curing Station and cures (dries) by a process called photopolymerization.  With this method, the ink dries almost instantly--no more slowing down production just because you're worried about ink smudges.  You can position the lamps up, down, this way, or that way, which makes it easy to cure the ink on just about any job, no matter how awkward the piece.  This brings production speeds of up to 30,000 pph!

Ending the drying time dilemma is a big deal, but the advantages of a UV system doesn't stop there.  This ink will print on almost anything--metal, plastic, paper, porous, or aqueous!  This makes the inkjet mailing system more versatile than ever before.  What's more, the U.V. ink has no solvent emissions--so using it makes the work place more pleasant for everyone.

Of course, drying time and versatility aren't very useful without at least acceptable print quality.  But Buskro's Aurora U.V. Inkjet System goes beyond acceptable and delivers exceptional.  It'll handle resolutions from 110dpi to 660pdi, giving you clean, crisp print on just about any surface.

Buskro's industrial controller will handle up to eight print modules on a single machine, and each one can print in 1, 2, or 3 inch strips.  This gives you a total of up to 24" of high quality and high speed variable inkjet printing.

The printing system features Compose IQ Systems Control software--a leading developer in the industry.  Their advanced layout tools make it easy to manipulate text, barcodes, and graphics, as well as track each record and maintain complete synchronization between the software and hardware.  Data control and product tracking features make complicated applications, like duplex printing personalized information possible!

The mailroom equipment industry is on the verge of great changes, as the demand for quality, speed, and reliability increases.  It's nice to see a manufacturer step up to the plate and deliver a product that really does handle the issues mailrooms have always struggled with.  As soon as they add a coffee maker to the machine (and perhaps a few cup holders), we'll give it the official "does everything" seal.
